Nikon D700 vs Canon 5D review

Prior to any news on the Canon 5D mk2 or whatever is likely to be coming, I came across a review of the old vs the new: the existing 5D vs the new FF kid on the block, the Nikon D700.

It’s by a Swedish photographer Said Karlsson He has tried a Nikon D700 in the field during a trip to Japan, it’s a nice opinion piece with good user feedback from rather than a new camera magazine/web type review. He really likes the D700 but despite the age of the 5D there’s not a gulf in class, the differences are really small in his opinion. That’s saying something about the 5D class but being a new product, marketing and features are things which appeal to buyers, something old product don’t compete with. Still, I expect we’ll see good second hand 5D’s on sale, hopefully at bargain prices.
