The new Canon 50D is reviewed on the ‘The World According to Roland’ blog written by Roland Lim. It is in comparison to the 40D with lots of side by side photo comparisons
The review does a good summary of the new features and differences to the 40D though I have to say it doesn’t give [...]
5D mk2 stills from Vincent Lafloret
5D mk2 stills from Vincent Lafloret
Canon have posted some mk2 stills from the recent Vincent Lafloret Reverie shoot. They are all shot with a pre-production camera and are posted in full jpeg without any post processing. As you’d expect they are shot with L series glass, and most of them primes so they are going [...]
5D mk2 autofocus
The 5D mk2 camera isn’t even in peoples hands, that is to say owning or fully reviewing the camera and it’s there’s widespread speculation in the forums across the web about the autofocus system and whether it is up to scratch.
Understandably with a new high cost and long awaited camera everyone wants a bigger and [...]
5D mk2 videos from Vincent Lafloret
Following on from the great 5d mk2 blog post on the image quality are two videos from Vincent Lafloret which are a short ‘film’ and a behind the scenes video about the making of the shots. In his blog he’s said that since this content went up on Saturday there have been over half a [...]
Canon 5d mk2 is ‘Stunning’
I hadn’t heard of Vincent LaFloret until the 5D mk2 arrived. Let me give you a quick CV, He’s won a Pulitzer prize for photography, shoots for the likes of Vanity Fair, Life, National Geographic, is a Canon Explorer of Light (advises/consults with them on cameras!) has won countless awards…. You get the idea.
So, back [...]
Canon 50D ships in UK
The first 50D units are being brought in the UK so sometime we will hopefully be seeing ‘real world’ shots from the Camera. So far there have been shots but mainly aimed at high ISO performance. It’s all about IQ so I’m looking forward to seeing how good the 15megapixels perform and particularly from the [...]
Wedding shots, even more 5d mk2 high ISO shots
More Canon 5d mk2 high ISO shots. This time they are from a pro on the launch day with a model at the Canon HQ. They are nice looking shots showing good tones at the high ISO settings. Many have commented on the lack of sharpness on many photos, so far only jpgs have been [...]
more Canon 5d mk2 images @ high ISO
Canon 5d Mk2 photos taken in the real world and not the Canon launch release images are in great demand now the cat is out of the bag (of course a full review is what everyone wants). On Flickr there are 5d mk2 high ISO photos which appear to have been taken on a Canon [...]
Canon 5d mk2 high ISO photos
So far there has been little real world information or indeed photos from the 5D mk2, surely the area that starts to tell us what we want to know. There are many people theorising and talking specifications of the camera from the spec sheet but photos are the test. One of the most talked about [...]
Canon 5D mkii is released
The Canon 5D mk2 is here as anticiapted, the non disclosure agreements held up with few leaks and the name game with guesses of the new camera called 6D, 7D etc all being wrong and it is the mkii.
There’s no integral grip, plenty of Megapixels but surprisingly there is 1080 HD movie capabilities. I say [...]
